Over the years, clients and colleagues have characterized our work ethic and client service practices as proactive, responsive and principled. It remains our goal to serve every client in alignment with these core values.
We are proactive in that we are dedicated to identifying issues that need attention--no matter how thorny or political-- and we tend to them before they become problems. Also, our clients are often pleasantly surprised when we point out latent or ‘landmine’ legal issues in matters that are not generally characterized as "legal."
We are responsive because we know that clients require flexible, creative, knowledgeable and accessible counsel. No lawyer can anticipate all the questions, situations or problems in every transaction or trial. We recognize that we will sometimes be called upon late in the game for input on situations that are mature or nearly concluded. Given this reality, we are always mindful of the need for practical, timely solutions.
Finally, we take personal and professional pride in the principles which guide our practice of law. Attorneys are occasionally called upon to deliver advice and opinions which are difficult for clients to accept. In such situations, it is often more tempting to render an opinion which is more manageable or agreeable to the client. However, an appetitive opinion in a tough situation is likely to be an incorrect one and does a disservice to both the client and the legal profession. Our well-earned reputation of zealous client representation includes the duty to be accurate in all circumstances.
